The short answer
Vinted allows up to 20 photos per listing and rejects any image larger than 9 MB. It publishes no pixel dimension. The rules it does enforce are about content and ownership: the first picture shows the entire item, no collages, and no stock, watermarked or downloaded images. Listings that break those rules get hidden or removed.

Why this matters on Vinted
Vinted is the one resale app in this group that gives you a real number to fail. Images over 9 MB are rejected outright by the uploader, which is exactly the size a modern phone produces when the camera is set to maximum quality or the photo is a long burst frame. Sellers hit that wall and assume the app is broken.
Everything else Vinted publishes is about what is in the picture. Show the entire item in the first shot. No collages. Use your own photos, in daylight, with no flash and no filters. Show the defects. For luxury and premium items, include at least three photos with close-ups of labels and logos so the authenticity check has something to work with.
Those rules have teeth. Vinted lists pictures taken from another website, including stock photos, as grounds for removing a listing, and pictures containing nudity or provocative posing under the same heading. A hidden listing stays invisible until you fix it, which is quiet in a way a takedown notice is not.

Why does Vinted refuse to upload your photo?
Almost always file size. Vinted caps listing images at 9 MB and shows a message saying images larger than 9MB cannot be uploaded. High resolution phone photos, RAW conversions and long-exposure frames all cross that line easily.
Compress the file rather than shrinking the picture. Re-saving a JPEG at high quality usually drops it well under 9 MB while keeping the detail a buyer sees when they zoom into a seam. What has to be in the first picture?
The entire item, and only the item. Vinted's guidance is explicit on both halves: show the whole thing in the first picture, and do not use collages. The uploader repeats it as a prompt, asking you to choose a shot that shows the entire item against a clear background.
A collage cover is the single most common self-inflicted mistake on Vinted, because it looks efficient in the editor and unreadable in the feed.
How many photos should you actually upload?
You have twenty slots. Vinted reports that listings with at least three photos are more likely to sell, and requires at least three for luxury and premium items to help show authenticity. Three is the floor, not the target. A useful set:
- Whole item, full view, clear background
- Back and both sides
- Brand label and care label, readable
- Logo and stitching close-ups for premium items
- Every defect, close enough to judge
- Proof of purchase such as a receipt or invoice where you have it
Which photos get a listing hidden or removed?
Vinted names two photo-specific grounds for removal: pictures taken from another website, including stock photos, and pictures containing elements of nudity or provocative posing and gestures. Watermarked images fall under the same ownership rule.
A hidden listing is recoverable. Vinted says that once you take the required action, such as adding the required photos, the listing becomes visible again. A removed listing is not, and repeat removals compound.
How do you keep yourself out of your own listing photos?
Vinted advises avoiding your face in listing photos and suggests blurring or cropping identifiable features, or displaying items on a hanger, a mannequin, or as a flat lay instead of modelling them.
Remember that Vinted strips metadata from the file but not information from the frame. A visible street name, a house number, a delivery label or a reflection in a mirror is published exactly as photographed.
